テニスコート西側フィットネスエリアで激しく体を動かしている人がいました。よく見ていると太い帯状のゴムをバーに取り付けて両腕で引っ張っていました。1分くらい引っ張りその後緩めて30秒くらい休んで再びゴムを引っ張ることを繰り返していました。ハードなトレーニングです。

Kazumasa Takahashi family are visiting from Tokyo and enjoy playing tennis at the KPTC.

2 tennis couple enjoy playing tennis at the their favorite Kapiolani tennis court, they are visiting from Wisconsin state.

Toshiko is visiting from Wakkanai Hokkaido, she will be staying here until Feb 19.

Sandi came back again this year from Sun Orange OR, she will be staying here 2 more weeks.

Shige returned back to KPTC again from Tokyo, he can stay here only one week.

カージナル

プレーが始まっていないNo2コートに頭が赤いカージナルが沢山やって来ていました。昨日のプレーヤーがコートに落としていった食べ物を啄ばみに小鳥がやってきます。やってくる小鳥たち同じ種類の小鳥が集団になってやってきます。自分たちで食べ物を確保しようとするためなのでしょう。

朝日が出ます!!

ダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向の空が徐々にオレンジ色になってきました。もう直ぐダイヤモンド・ヘッド稜線から朝日が出てきます。7時過ぎ太陽は、水平線から出ていますがダイヤモンド・ヘッドを登るのに50分位かかります。その時間テニスコートから見る空の色が変化するのが素敵です。

Barbara: "The fun picnic for our group will be on this Wednesday Feb 14 starting at 11 o’clock, at Kapiolani Park, next to the tennis courts. I’m still looking for a folding table or a card table or two to serve as our buffet table beside the picnic table. We’re expecting a variety of delicious main courses, sandwiches, sushi, salads, casseroles, and 3-4 desserts. If you’re bringing dessert please tell Barbara by comments here or tell me at the tennis courts soon. 
Please bring your own NON-ALCOHOLIC beverage and folding chairs or picnic blanket. 
Please help me out — if you have a table, can we borrow it please? Thanks. 
Also if you have a guitar that Sergio & Domingo can use for their performance, please let me know.

日向ぼっこ

ウォーキング・ロードをゆったり歩いての帰り道バンドスタンドに続く芝生広場に沢山の鳩と鴨,ツグミ等々の鳥が日向ぼっこをしていました。鳥たちあまり動かず日の光を楽しんでいるように見えました。のどかな景色でいい気持ちでワイキキに向かいました。

大きな虹!!

シャワーを感じなかったがダイヤモンド・ヘッド方面が白くなっていたので虹が出るかとワイキキ方面の空を時々見ていると大きな虹が出てきました。初め虹の色が薄かったですが徐々に濃くなってはっきり見えるようになってきました。時々虹が出る今頃の時期いいですね。

早朝プレーヤー

朝6時頃テニスコートに着くとボールを打つ打球音がNo2コートから聞こえてきました。早朝プレーヤーのペアが何度も何度もラリーを繰り返し行っています。女性のプレーヤーは、打球位置に対応してラケットを持ち変え全てフォアハンドでボールを打ちます。見ていてもラケット持ち変え非常にスムースで自然に感じてしまいます。

雨のテニスコート

朝6時頃来て暫くするとダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向から涼しい風を感じシャワーが来るだろうと屋根のある所に荷物を移動した直後に激しい雨がやってきました。大きな雨粒がコート上で跳ね返り直ぐ水溜りが広がって行きました。ハワイカイ方面少し明るいので少しすると行きすぎると思っていると7時前雨は、止みました。

 You were such a wonderful and friendly presence at the Kapiolani tennis courts. We miss you and wish the best to Michi and the rest of your family.

American Air pilot Keith is visiting again, he lives in LA.

Kimiya returned back to Aloha state from Otaru Hokkaido.

Shimazu came back again from Tokyo.

Diane & Tom came back again this year from Sacramento CA, they will be staying here until Feb 27,
