Yutaka-san is coming back

He used be a marathon runner before. His Best Time was 3 hours 16 minutes. His wife, Kyoko, also was a runner. Her Best Time was 4 hours 18 minutes.

Thank you for cleaning, Yukaka-san.

He is going back to Japan tomorrow. Thank you for every thing. He will come back here in December with our posted calendar in 2011. We are waiting for you.

カピオラニパークでサッカーが盛んです

週末は、芝生のグランドでサッカーがよく行われています。日本では、子供の頃から土のグランドで行っているためボールをキックするポイントが芝より10Cm位下の位置で蹴ることが身に付いています。そのためここ一番の時体にしみ込んだ場所をキックするのでJリーグの選手もゴールの確立が悪いと言われています。野球も金属バットは、一点で打っていると反発力が弱くなるので回転させながら使用するのですが木のバットは、一点しか最大反発しないのでそのポイントにボールを当てることが必要なのに金属バットで育った選手は、そのことが分かるまで時間がかかるとミズノの久保田さん(バット作り名人)に聞きました。子供の時からの習慣は、中々直らないですね。(写真:Joe提供）

クヒオビーチの新郎新婦

夕方クイーンカピオラニ銅像から海側に進んだクヒオビーチで幸せな新郎新婦を見かけました。太陽が傾き始めワイキキがきれいに見える夕方に結婚式を終えたカップルがこのようにビーチに来て色々なポーズで写真を撮ります。見ているだけで温かい幸せが周りに漂い見ている方も幸せモードになりますね。こういうカップルを見かけると拍手をして「Congratulation」と声をかけます。「お幸せに!!」

I saw this bride and groom @ Kuhio beach. After the wedding ceremony the happy couple stopped @ the beach and I took some pictures of them. There’s an air of warm atmosphere and they make me happy. When I saw the happy couple I applauded and shouted “congratulations on your marriage.”

コートメンテナンスをするKeithとSusan

Keithが日常的にコートチェックを行いコートの補修が必要な時ツールボックスを持って6時10分頃コートに現われます。Keithが、補修作業を始める時どこをどのように補修するのか確認して一緒に作業します。No1コートのネット補修をKeithの指示のもとSusanと一緒に作業しました。一通り完了しKeithが出来映えを確認の上道具を片づけこの日のメンテナンス完了しました。皆で気持ちよくプレーできるコート維持をして行きましょう。

毎月何回か朝6時過ぎKeithがテニスコートの確認をしています。不具合がある部分,交換した方がよいもの,補修すればよいところなど確認し必要なものが出てくれば道具を持ってきて短時間で処置出来るものは、6時から6時30分位までに補修してしまいます。交換が必要なものは、市の公園管理部門からもらってきて交換します。時間がかかる補修が必要な時は、手伝いが欲しいと呼びかけがありますので皆で協力してよい環境を維持して行きましょう。
Every month Keith is checking tennis court after 6:00am sometimes.If he found something missing parts, need repair some like that and he did till 6:30 by himself with his tool wow!! It really needs exchange he got stuff from an administrative park bureau and exchange. If he needs some help work together and for good maintain.

ホノルルマラソンゴール地点

カピオラニ公園マラソンランナーにとっては、42.195Kmのゴール地点です。クイーンカピオラニ銅像前の道路に30Cm幅で白線が引かれています。そこがマラソンのゴール地点です。12月第二日曜日アラモアナQueen Stを5時スタートしてこのカピオラニ公園へ帰ってきます。毎年3万人近くのランナーが走り日本人が17000人くらい走ります。最終ランナーは、10時間以上かかり午後4時過ぎにゴールします。

This is the goal for full marathon that white line the front statue of Queen Kapiolani. The second Sunday of December, there’re in 17,000 Japanese runners out of 30,000 in Honolulu marathon every year. The last runner takes over ten hours so enter the goal at past 4:00pm.

朝焼けと半月

日の出前朝焼けと半月をNo2コートから撮りました。同じ色の空は、二度と現れませんがオレンジに染まった雲,深い青色の空,そこに残照で残っている月と朝早くテニスコートにきて毎朝非常にきれいな景色を見ることができ幸せを感じます。こんな景色が目に入ってくるので明日も早起きをしてテニスコートに行こうという気持ちになります。

I took this picture @ court#2 a half moon and a red glow before sunrise. We can’t see same color of sky never again but when I saw beautiful orange cloud, deep blue sky, a moon in early morning I feel happy so I’d better keep to wake up early and go to tennis court everyday.

左巻きの木々達 All counterclockwise trees

テニスコート行き来に眺める公園の木々達は、全て左巻きです。これは、常に西風が吹いているため長い年月をかけて左巻きになっているのです。カピオラニだけでなくオアフ島どこに行って見ても左巻きです。北半球太平洋地域では、偏西風の影響で長寿の木々は、左巻きになります。テニスコートの行き来に色々な物を目にして毎日心のリフレッシュをしています。
Look at trees in KP with very careful attention.
There’re all counterclockwise trees not only in Kapiolani park but also even everywhere in Oahu. Because of the wind, which always blow westerly and with the years. that’s why. Many long life trees have counterclockwise by the prevailing westerlies in Northern hemisphere. I like to see various thing on my way it makes me feel refreshed.

早起きプレーヤー カレンダー Early birds Calendar

09年このカレンダーを作り始めて10年経ちました。99年最初のデジカメQV10を買ってテニスコートで撮った写真を何かの形でと思いカレンダーを作ることにしたのが始まりです。最初は、30名位でしたがパソコンとデジカメの性能が上がり今では、100人を越えるメンバーを掲載しています。私がコートに行く6時から9時頃(1,2,3,9,10,12月)に遭遇したプレーヤーを掲載しています。写真を撮ることをお願いしましたら協力して下さい。来年のカレンダーメンバーになります。12,1,2月にカレンダーを配っています。

I’ve been making this calendar for ten years. I got my first digital camera in 1999,I wanted to leave pictures for something or other that I took @ tennis court and start to make calendar. At first I had about thirty people but now I have over one hundred people on that by highly efficient PC and camera. If I’m asking can I take picture? In tennis court just say yes and work together,please. You ‘ll get into the calendar next year. I’ll be there 6:00am to 9:00 In Jun. to Mar. or Sep. Oct. and Dec. See you there:)

強風のテニスコート Gusty tennis court

09年2月中旬から3月初旬にかけて強風曇りの日が多く常夏のハワイは、雲隠れ状態でした。この写真でも太陽が雲に隠れヤシの木が西風に吹かれ激しく横になびいています。(ワイキキでは、と言うより太平洋では、風は基本的に西風です)こんなに風が強くてもコート上は、風除けネットのおかげで若干風が弱まっていますがロブを上げると風に流されてしまいます。風が強くても沢山のプレーヤーがダイヤモンドヘッド側に風を計算したショットを打ち風の力を借りてナイスショットを連発しています。

We had windy and cloudy days in middle of February to early March. The sun hiding and palm trees are waving in the breeze. The prevailing westerlies in Pacific coast. We have light wind sometimes even windy day because there’s nice screen net here but if we did lob shot it has blown off. Many players utilize wind as good shot.

素敵なテニスプレヤー達

ハワイで運動をしている方達は、想像を越える年齢層の方々が沢山沢山運動をしている場面を目にします。テニスコートに向かう道でジョギング,太極拳,ウエイトトレーニング,サッカー,ストレッチ,フットボール投げ等々をしている方々 そしてテニスコートのプレヤー　若者顔負けで勢いのあるショット,コートカバーをし60代,70代は、まだまだ若者扱い 素敵なプレヤーの皆さんを見習ってプレーを続ける元気をもらっています。

Many senior people exercising in Hawaii, jogging, tai chi, weight training , soccer ,stretching, catch ball……and we have great elder tennis players in Kapiolani court even a young man would have been put to shame. Treat 60’s or 70’s like a youth.We follow the example of them and get power always.
