Who Are They?

A few days ago, I saw these four people walking down the street by my office and took their picture. They look familiar. Are they tennis players from Japan?

素敵な環境

カピオラニ公園両側のテニスコートを挟んだ中央スペースから東側ダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向を眺めた景色です。きれいに手入れされた芝生が続く所に点々と背の高い樹木が植栽されアクセントのなっています。両面のテニスコートでは、プレーヤー達が熱戦を繰り広げています。

65 years old grandfather Yoshi with his 7 years old grandson Koharu, they live in Nagoya.

Today, Shimo & Keiko will return to their Osaka home. Sayonara and see you again in Jan.

Happy tennis family (dad Shibata, mom Shima and daughter Mayuko) came back to KPTC again this year from Yokohama; they will stay here until Aug 10.

ママさんフィットネス

ママさん達がバギーカーを押してバンドスタンド周辺に集まって来ていました。何をするのかなと見ているとバンドスタンドの階段を使ってフィットネスに取り組んでいます。動ける子供達その周辺で思い思いに動き回っています。トレーナーの指示に従って次々メニューをママさん達消化して言っています。火曜日と木曜日ママさんフィットネスが行われています。

I stopped by to watch Jojo and his partner, Jan (far right), play a USTA mixed doubles league match. They squeezed out a win in an exciting back and forth third set tie breaker. Their opponents on the left were Ed and Bertha.

Today I played golf with Miki at the Royal Kunia GC.

ニワトリの親子

カピオラニ公園バス停から北側に進んだシェル・スタンド近くでニワトリの親子を見つけました。駐車場周辺をニワトリがチョコチョコと歩いたり悠然とユックリ歩いたりした姿を時々見かけます。母鳥がヒヨコを４羽連れて散歩を兼ねて餌取りをしているようでした。ヒヨコを連れていると言うことは、どこかで卵を産んで温めてという過程を経たので卵を産む場所が判ればオムレツを作れるかもしれませんね。

Exercise scenery in the park of the Tahitian dance By Nobu

I heard the rhythm of the Tahitian dance in return of the tennis, Kapiolani Park. It was the member who appeared in Heiva of the Waikiki shell in 2014 when I saw it near because I looked happy. Everybody practiced in intense heat with effort.

いい枝ぶりです!!

カピオラニ公園バス停辺り動物園のフェンス沿い大きな樹木が素敵な枝を広げています。この木々達がいい枝ぶりで両側一杯に木陰が出来るようにホノルル市の公園維持担当部署が定期的に剪定しています。長い時間かかりこんな木陰を維持できる樹木を育てて気持ちよい環境を作る所にハワイ州の気持ちを感じられます。

ネムノキ

テニスコート西側直ぐの所に素敵な木陰を作ってくれるネムノキが沢山花を付けています。ピンク色したフワフワッとした花がきれいに咲き続けています。花の形が化粧に使うパフに似ていることからパフの花と呼ばれます。葉っぱが夕方になると閉じ日の出とともに葉っぱが開くことからネムノキと言われる語源だと言われます。

Good Player

Pauline パートナーがコートに入って来るのを待っています。早朝プレーヤー Pauline コートに現れる時は、7時前にやってきます。いつも元気に現われウォーミングアップを行いプレーを楽しんでいます。2セット位ゲームを楽しんだ後コート周辺のゴミを集めて気持ちよい環境を作ってくれています。油断すると鋭いショットが飛んでくるので Pauline のラケット捌きをよく見ることが必要です。
