良い天候の中沢山のプレーヤーが各コートで熱戦を展開しています。No2コートもプレーヤーがベンチで待つています。そんな中今日プレーをしない Reiko も友人達とのおしゃべりにコートにやってきました。

盛大にBBQ

15日 Martin Luther King's day 祝日でカラカウア通りを使ったパレードが行われました。パレード参加者がカピオラニ公園にたどり着くとパレード・グループごとに準備されたグループ・テントにやってきます。テント毎盛大にBBQ準備が行われておりバンドスタンド前周辺香ばしいにおいが漂っていました。

Saturday's Ballistic Missile Alert

 

If you didn't see it, this is the alert many of us in Hawaii received on Saturday morning about the incoming ballistic missile. Many of us couldn't believe it; it's like being told you have 12-13 minutes to live. What should we do?

One tennis player ran over to her car to call her children on the mainland to let them know where the will was located. From all reports, everyone continued playing. Apparently, rain, sleet, snow, or an incoming ballistic missile will not stop the Kapiolani tennis player from getting his/her tennis in.

Today Nori will arrive airport around 8:00 am.

ダイヤモンド・ヘッドに三日月

新月前の細くなった三日月がダイヤモンド・ヘッド展望台横に出ています。日の出まで1時間近くある6時過ぎカピオラニ・テニスコート中央からきれいな景色が見えています。日の出を前にオレンジ色と水色に染まった空が三日月にアクセントをつけています。

ライトを点けるスイッチ

カピオラニ・テニスコート中央にこのライトを点けるスイッチがあります。現在機能していません。15年位前までコートのライトが点灯していなく最初に来たプレーヤーがダイヤルを回しスイッチを入れるとライトが1時間点灯しました。20年位前25￠硬貨を入れて点灯させていました。現在公園オープン5時になるとライトが7時15分まで点灯します。

ライトが切れてます!!

No2テニスコート東側のライトが1基消灯しています。コート東ダイヤモンドヘッド側11日からハロゲンライトが切れたようです。奥側のライトなので少し薄暗い感じで影響は、軽微です。12日朝公園管理担当者にライト消灯を確認してもらい対応を依頼しました。

Fumiko's younger brother Yasu and his tennis partner of Tokyo Kazumi came to the court this morning and enjoyed playing tennis with us.

Fumio came back to KPTC again this year from Kyoto, he want to stay Aloha state 3 months.

Minako returned back to her Waikiki condo from Montreal Canada and will be staying here 2 and half months.

George returned back to his Waikiki Banyan condo from Portland OR home and will be staying here 3 months.

ジャグリング

コート上がウォーミングアップを行っている間コートで出番を待つ David ボール3個を使ってジャグリングを行っています。体の前方だけで行うのでは、なくボールを背中を通したり足の間を通したり複雑な動きを行ってくれました。

Surf Lesson

カピオラニ公園バンドスタンド前の芝生に置かれたサーフ・ボードでボードに乗る指導が行われていました。ボードに寝転んで立ち上がりボード上に足を開いた姿勢でバランスを取る等々何回か行った後ボードを持ち海の方向に進んで行きました。この後うまくボードに乗れたでしょうか?
