Very strong tennis players are visiting from Seattle. They will play at KPTC again on Tuesday.

I have never seen one like Chloe's.

ヤシの木のポーズ

7時を過ぎたカピオラニ・テニスコートを東側に出ると朝日が昇り芝生エリアに太陽の光が届いています。太陽の光を受けたヤシの木が踊るような影を芝生に写しています。ヤシの木がダンスをしているような格好に見えます。しばらく眺めていても飽きない公園の広場です。

My best friend Fumiko returned to KPTC earlier. She will stay at the Waikiki Banyan for 2 months and wants to enjoy playing tennis and golf every day during her stay in the Aloha state.

David appeared after a long time at his lovely tennis courts this morning. We are very glad to see him again.

Mike is visiting from Tacoma WA. He will leave for his home on Monday but, he will come back again in Dec and will stay here for 2 weeks.

強い風

カピオラニ公園ウォーキングロードを歩いて来る路で風が強そうだなと感じながらテニスコートにやってきました。No1コートとNo3コートの間に植栽されているヤシの木を確認するとダイヤモンド・ヘッドからの風で木の上部が海側に大きく押されていました。風が強いことを確認してNo2コートへ入りました。

A Bad Injury at Wimbledon

Most of you probably heard the bad news about the very popular Bethanie Mattek-Sands, the world #1 doubles player, at Wimbledon. She badly injured her right knee during a singles match. Hopefully, it's not a career ending injury. Unfortunately for Bethanie and her doubles partner, Lucie Safarova, they were shooting for their fourth consecutive Grand Slam title in doubles. The pair had won the last three Grand Slam doubles championships (US Open, Australian Open, and French Open). The photo on the right was shot of Bethanie in February. Bethanie, we wish you a full and speedy recovery.

ラリーが続いたゲームでポイントを取り15-40 とした Fumiko , Nori ペア次のポイントで決めようとレシーブポジションで待っています。相手のサーブポジションを確かめながらレシーブ位置を決めようとリラックスして待っています。

プレイ!!

ゲーム開始 最初のサーブどこにでも打ってこいと Fumiko レシーブポジションで待っています。ゲーム開始のサーブもレシーブも様子を見るのでゆったり構えられると緊張します。レシーブ側どこにサーブを打たれてもよいように中央位置で待つのがいいですね。

残念!!

Masa ファーストサーブ思ったところに打ちました。サービスラインをチョッピリ・オーバーしフォルトになりました。思った場所にいい感じで打てたのに一寸オーバー「残念!!」さてセカンドサーブどこに打とうかと考えています。

人魚がずらり!!

テニスが終わりのんびりと海岸沿いを散歩しながらワイキキ方向に歩きました。クヒオ・ビーチにやってくると砂浜海に近い位置にずらりと人魚が横たわっていました。朝10時頃この時間こんな風に日光浴だと8時頃から太陽を浴びているのでしょう。北の地方から観光にやってくる人たち1年分の太陽を浴びないとビタミンD不足になるのでタップリ日光浴が必要なんですね。

素敵な配置

カピオラニ・テニスコート No2,No4 コートから東側に出て芝生エリアに視線を向けるとヤシの木が並びその向こうにモンキーポットが点々と植栽されています。眺めているだけでリラックスできる素敵な配置がズーット続いています。公園の緑の配置素敵なデザインですね。

These 5 all Japanese tennis players came from Osaka and will leave for their home next week Monday.

チョット休憩

早朝6時30分頃からライトが点灯したテニスコートでプレーしていましたが7時少し前ライトが消灯しました。ボールがチョット見づらい状態なので10分位チョット休憩とプレーを中断してプレーヤー達芝生エリアに行き朝日が昇るのを待ちました。

Hawaiian Monk Seal Born about 100 Yards Away from the Tennis Courts

Did you see the rare Hawaiian monk seal and her pup that was born a week ago just east of the Natatorium? It's a rare and endangered species and many are surprised that mom decided that Waikiki Beach is a good place to give birth.


Note: Tennis players, we do not recommend giving birth near the Natatorium. Too many tourists will want to take your picture.  ;)

静かです!!

4面のカピオラニ・テニスコートまだプレーヤーが来ていません。静かなNo1テニス・コートでエクササイズをする人がコートのベンチやコートのラインを利用して体を動かしています。コートのラインをジグザグに跨いで腰全体をツイストしたりラインを真っすぐ踏む足の運び等繰り返しトレーニングしています。

Kim returned to Aloha state again from Fairfield CA, she will be staying here until next week Thursday.

イベントの準備

週末にトライアスロンの大会が行われるのでカピオラニ公園色々な準備が行われています。芝生広場に臨時のトイレが設置されていっています。一ヶ所にまとめて設置をしないで芝生広場に散らばって設置されています。同じ場所で長ーい行列ができないように分散しているのです。カピオラニ公園色々なイベントで利用されています。

もう直ぐ朝日が!!

No3テニスコートからダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向の芝生広場に出てみました。テニスコートフェンス沿いにある鉄棒エリアで鉄棒を使ったエクササイズをしている人がいます。芝生広場全体まだ薄暗い状態ですがダイヤモンド・ヘッドの向こう側が薄明るくなっているのでもう直ぐ朝日が現れます。

Today Independence Day, therefore car parking difficult but these people came to the court.

Masako, Tony, Nori, Sache, Miki, Koji and Ruth.

I took these Japanese people at the court No 2.

But I could see Steve, Amy, JoJo, Rich, Bill.. at the  

another courts.
