スプリンクラー

No1コートフェンス脇直ぐの所に芝生散水用のスプリンクラーが設置されています。火,水,金 曜日と週に3回朝7時過ぎから散水が始まります。水の勢いがよい時コート脇に散水の水が浸入してくることがあります。また、通り道に散水されているのでコートに入る時水に濡れないよう注意して下さい。

フィットネス・メンバー

早朝6時過ぎのテニスコートいつもと違って賑やかなので何をやっているのかと足早にコートの近づくとフィットネス・メンバーがコートを占拠していました。テニスコートのラインを利用した運動をリーダーの指導により行っていました。ラインを踏んで真っすぐ動く,ジグザグに動く,ジャンプしながらの移動 等々体を動かしていました。

Recently, Bob & Hiromi Vacationed in the South Pacific

Bob & Hiromi:  "We had a 7-day cruise on the Paul Gauguin ship. From Tahiti to Huahine, Taha'a, Bora Bora, Moorea. and back to Tahiti. 

And, 2 nights at the Intercontinental Tahiti Resort, Water Bangarou. We were really refreshed on another side of paradise. We wanted to share a little bit of our trip."

Hi Charlie and Ozzie!

After hitting the tennis ball for awhile, Ozzie takes a rest on the bench and chats with Charlie. Ozzie and Sandy depart for Edmonton, Washington, on Friday and will return back to the islands in September. Take care, Ozzie and Sandy; see you in September!  :)

プルメリア

ワイキキからカピオラニ公園に入る所にプルメリアが沢山咲いています。その木の周辺に落花した花が沢山あるのでテニスの帰り木の周辺を見て早朝に落花した花を選んで拾います。素敵な香りがするので4つか5つ持って帰り枕の辺りに置いておくと素敵な香りが1日中漂っています。

Akira (Osaka Japan)

Yutaka の弟(Younger brother）8日から10日間の滞在で来ています。少し膝を痛めているので様子を見ながらテニスをしようと言っていましたので毎日コートに顔を出せないかもしれませんが顔を見たら声を掛け相手をして下さい。Yutaka は、8月30日からコートに行きます。

ダイヤモンド・ヘッドを

ワイキキ側から歩いて来てカピオラニ・テニスコートに入った所からNo3コートの向こうにダイヤモンドヘッドがきれいに見えます。早朝のシャワーでコートがチョッピリ濡れていますがこの日差しなら僅かの時間で乾いてしまうでしょう。少し濡れた芝生がきれいに見え気持ちよい景色を見せてくれています。

At lunch today after everyone had eaten  Ayako  finished all the Pad Thai and Curry. Yum yum.

ウォーキングロード

カピオラニ公園を周回するウォーキングロードが整備されています。早朝から暗くなるまでこのウォーキングロードを歩く人,ジョギングする人でにぎわっています。テニスのプレーをする時も終わって帰る時も公園の風景を見ながらこのウォーキングロードを歩いています。気持ちがゆったりしリラックスした気分で往復できます。

カピオラニ・テニスコート

素敵な天候の中バスストップから歩いて来てNo3コートに到着 コートに入り全体を眺めるとまだプレーヤーが集まっていません。静かなコートがプレーヤーを待ち素敵な天候と景色が目に入ります。いい気持ちだなぁ～と荷物を置いて深呼吸してしまいました。

素敵な落ち葉

カピオラニ公園バス停を下り少し海側に歩くと大きく公園と平行に枝を張り広く木陰を作っているモンキーポッドの木 その下にぐるりと円を描くように落ち葉が降り積もっています。この落ち葉モンキーポッドの木自身が積み上げて円を書いています。なんだか意志を持って行っているように感じます。

Meet the "Pali's"

In all three photos, it's Ali on the left and Pat on the right. They love sports, the outdoors, adventures, travel, and retirement. They have homes in both Lake Tahoe and Waikiki and are living happily ever after! Now, if I can only get them to switch the sides they stand on...   :D

Wow. Look at those hot bodies in their swim suits.  Being married, I'm not allowed to stare at this photo for more than 30 seconds at a time.  ;)

試合に行こう

中学生の男女がグループでサッカーの試合場所にゾロゾロと固まって移動しています。公園北側で毎週末色々な年代サッカーの試合が行われています。朝10時頃から夕方5時頃までなので各フィールド3試合位行われています。応援の家族やグループ賑やかに楽しんでいます。

Aloha, Jiro and Chako!

This past weekend, we welcomed a long-time friend back to the courts. Jiro and Chako traveled from Osaka, Japan, to Hawaii for a short visit. They had not played tennis since they were last here in January. Jiro had an injured ankle and could not even make it to the courts. :( Nevertheless, we were happy to see and get Chako into a game. They both returned back to Japan on Monday. From left to right, it's Ben, his daughter Judy, Chako, and the always friendly Doi. Have a good week, everyone!

きれいな花が!!

カピオラニ公園色々な所に花が咲いているのが目に入って来ます。1年中色々な花が素敵な景色を見せてくれます。1年中同じような気候ですが植物は、微妙に温度を感じ季節の変化を表現します。この黄色いシャワー・ツリーの花も3月から10月頃に花を見せてくれます。

Susan Family

Susan ニコニコ顔で息子の David 夫妻とコートの現れました。年に2回位シアトルからやって来て滞在中 Susan と一緒にテニスコートにやって来ます。この時は、いつもに増して Susan ニコニコ顔で David とペアを組み元気にプレーしています。

Ed & Diana's 49th Anniversary celebration was on May 30; therefore, they are staying in the Aloha state for their special 2-week vacation.

Esther appeared at the courts this morning after a long time; we guess that she was busy preparing to move. Her family is going to move to Guatemala at the end of July where their son lives.

芝生グランド

テニスコート北側にズーット広がる芝生グランド ここでサッカー,ラグビー,ラクロス,クロスカントリー・ランニング等々が毎日のように行われています。週末サッカーの試合が3面で行われ家族連れで賑やかに楽しんでいます。ハイスクールのクラブ・チームもこの場所でトレーニングすることがありいつも賑わっています。

JAL ヨガ・レッスン

カピオラニ公園バンドスタンド前に日本人旅行者が集まってヨガをしていました。どういう集まりか近づいてみるとJAL個人チケット利用者がフライト前に申し込む無料ヨガレッスンでした。朝8時30分集合でヨガ・インストラクターの指導のもとヨガ・ポーズを楽しんでいました。

Tennis couple Steve & Dorothy are visiting from Bend OR.

                              They will leave for their Oregon home coming Monday.

Masa came back to KPTC again this year from Hiroshima, Aloha!

                                   

He will stay here 1 month.
