Hi Hikaru and Mayuko!

When their parents play tennis, they wait patiently on the bench. Hikaru is the daughter of Jin and Ayano and Mayuko is the daughter of Shibata and Shima. Over the years, it's nice to see these cute young ones grow up.

Happy Birthday, Take!

Over the weekend, the players celebrated Take's birthday.  From left to right, it's the late morning group of Sung, Brent, Take, Nobu, and Herbie. Brent was kind enough to have brought the Liliha Bakery chocolate cake. What a nice guy.  :)

まだ誰もいません!!

No3テニスコート朝6時30分過ぎプレーヤー一人もいません。誰もいないコート ワイキキ方面を見るとフェンスの直ぐそばにパフの木が花を沢山つけ枝が横に広がりいい木陰を作っています。その向こうに同じような木陰が続き芝生の上でのんびりしたい気持ちになります。いい木々の配置がされていますね。

今は、京都とパリにいます。

No4コートゲームが終わり次のゲームまでチョッピリ休憩とベンチに座った Syun , Mimi , Lolo この後ウォーミングアップをしてゲーム開始 ラリーが続き鋭いショットやドロップショット,深いロブ 等がコートを行き来し熱戦が展開されました。3人共初夏のころにカピオラニ・コートへ現われそれぞれ Syun 京都 Mimi , Lolo パリ に帰っています。

素敵なテニスコート

カピオラニ・テニスコート No1コートのベンチ付近から西側方向を眺めた景色です。よく晴れた空に白い雲のアクセント その手前にヤシの木がうまく配置され木陰を作るシャワーツリー,モンキーポットの木が並びそれをコートから眺める ｢素敵なテニスコートだなぁー｣と自然に声が出てしまいます。

Sizzling Men's Doubles

Former professional Andy came out for his "annual" tennis outing. It's great to see these four men battle it out on the tennis courts. From left to right, it's David, Andy, Koji, and Jin. Awesome to watch Andy display his talents! Maybe we all should play once a year too!

フラの練習

バンドスタンドの舞台で女性達がフラダンスの練習をしています。3ヶ月毎にフラダンスの大会があるのでその大会に出るフラダンスを習っている人達がこのバンドスタンドやクヒオ・ビーチ近くで練習をしています。日本からも沢山のフラ・ガール達がやって来て熱心に練習に励んでいます。体全体を使って物語を表現して行くのでフラ・ダンス非常にハードな踊りです。

We can not thank you enough for your hospitality.
We had a great time meeting everyone and playing good tennis.
All our tennis friends here were a little envious of all our tennis playing while
 on the island.
Rick will be coming back soon just not sure of the dates.
We'll have to see if I'm able to return due to my office schedule.
I'm trying to talk a few of our tennis friends into coming with me.
We'll be keeping checking the blog for updates and pictures!

No need to bring a radio to the park this weekend—Kapiolani Park is going to be hosting performances from some of Hawaii’s best Hawaiian slack key guitar musicians, and from some up-and-comers. The 16-musician lineup includes Makana, Keale, Brother Noland, George Kuo, Sean Robbins, Chris Lau and Kawika Kahiapo.

Misako returned to KPTC with husband Hanazono from Tokyo for 2 weeks stay.

ダイヤモンド・ヘッド

19世紀イギリスからやって来た水夫たちがこの山を上り火口近くで方解石の結晶を見つけこれをダイヤモンドと思いこみこの山を「ダイヤモンドヘッド」と名付けました。それ以来「ダイヤモンドヘッド」という名前が定着しています。カピオラニ公園No3,4テニスコートから芝生広場に出てこういう風に見る「ダイヤモンドヘッド」いい景色ですね。

ダンス・エクササイズ

テニスコート西側アスレチック・エリア近くの芝生広場でダンス・エクササイズをしていました。ブラック・ウエアーの男性がトレーナーで飛び跳ねるようなリズムの音楽を鳴らしながらポーズを次々に示しています。そのトレーナーの動きに合わせ集まった女性達同じ動きになるように激しく動いていました。ダイエット・ダンス結構人気があり毎週火曜日9時頃から行われています。

Aloha Ozzie, Sandy, and Christine!

Ozzie attended the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati, Ohio this past week which was won by Roger Federer and Serena Williams. He and his ohana are getting ready for the U.S. Open in New York next week. The Boyle family sure know how to do things together and have fun!

No2コートに集まっているプレーヤー達 Nori , Masako , Ayako , Fuku このコートで毎日熱戦を展開しました。盛夏になる前皆日本に引き揚げ日本のお盆を過しています。秋風が感じられる頃こんな風にテニスコートに現れるでしょう。いつもの顔触れが同じ時期にコートに足を運びテニスを楽しみます。そんな楽しみがあるので日本とハワイを行き来しているんですね。

向こうは、熱戦!!

早朝コートにメンバーが揃うのがマチマチになります。No2コートからNo1コートを見るとメンバーが揃ってプレーが始まっていました。ラリーが続く打球音が聞こえてくるのをNo2コートでストレッチしながら視線を投げかけていました。ゆっくり体を動かしながらメンバーが来た時直ぐウォーミングアップできるよう準備をしながら他のコートのプレーも見ています。

Aloha Shibata Family!

Meet this nice young couple from Japan. Both parents, Shibata and Shima, are fine players. That's because their young daughter, Mayuko, is an excellent coach! :) They recently left Hawaii and returned back to their home near Yokohama.

禁煙広報

テニスコート中央ベンチ・エリアにあるゴミ箱に禁煙広報ラベルが貼られています。14年1月1日以降ハワイ州禁煙エリアが広がりました。公園,テニスコート,芝生広場,バス停が新たに追加され吸煙器具のある場所以外喫煙できなくなっています。テニスコートエリアも警官がパトカーを停め時々監視しています。いきなり罰金ないですが警告を受け i-Pad で写真を撮られ警告を受けた時データ検索で照合され合致すると50$罰金になります。2度目以降100$,250$と金額が上がります。
JINさん気を付けましょう!!

Takashi & Itsuko are visiting from Tokyo and want to stay here until Aug 18.

2014 Made in Hawaii festival By Nobu

 

It was full of a large number of people.

Nobu participated in a contest of the cooking demonstration.

And I won the championship and got tote bag.

As for the theme, 「Uh uh uh ... is delicious.」 It was this screaming contest. Comon!

Welcome Back to Hawaii, Ladies

It's Akiko, Fumiko, and Michiyo with Ben-o.  The ladies recently flew in from Japan to join Ben and others for some tennis and recreation.
