Flash Flood Watch:
Issued at: 3:47 AM HST 4/6/11, expires at: 5:00 PM HST 4/6/11
Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late Thursday Night,
The flash flood watch continues for
All Hawaiian islands.
Through late Thursday night.
Thunderstorms and locally heavy showers will spread today as a very cold low over the area makes the air mass unstable. Although this low will move away Thursday, Southeast Winds Will bring abundant water vapor from the deep tropics, Leading To prolonged periods of rain, Which Also Could cause flooding, especially over slopes facing southeast.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms are often spotty and localized. One area could be flooding, While Another Nearby remains mostly dry. If you can, Check The Forecast and conditions along your route before traveling around the state.
Precautionary/preparedness actions,
A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is very dangerous. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
