We miss all of you very much as well as the beautiful island and weather!
Rick and I had such a great time with all the wonderful tennis folks of
 Kapiolani tennis park.
We can not thank you enough for your hospitality.
We had a great time meeting everyone and playing good tennis.
All our tennis friends here were a little envious of all our tennis playing while
 on the island.
Rick will be coming back soon just not sure of the dates.
We'll have to see if I'm able to return due to my office schedule.
I'm trying to talk a few of our tennis friends into coming with me.
We'll be keeping checking the blog for updates and pictures!

No need to bring a radio to the park this weekend—Kapiolani Park is going to be hosting performances from some of Hawaii’s best Hawaiian slack key guitar musicians, and from some up-and-comers. The 16-musician lineup includes Makana, Keale, Brother Noland, George Kuo, Sean Robbins, Chris Lau and Kawika Kahiapo.

Misako returned to KPTC with husband Hanazono from Tokyo for 2 weeks stay.

ダイヤモンド・ヘッド

19世紀イギリスからやって来た水夫たちがこの山を上り火口近くで方解石の結晶を見つけこれをダイヤモンドと思いこみこの山を「ダイヤモンドヘッド」と名付けました。それ以来「ダイヤモンドヘッド」という名前が定着しています。カピオラニ公園No3,4テニスコートから芝生広場に出てこういう風に見る「ダイヤモンドヘッド」いい景色ですね。

ダンス・エクササイズ

テニスコート西側アスレチック・エリア近くの芝生広場でダンス・エクササイズをしていました。ブラック・ウエアーの男性がトレーナーで飛び跳ねるようなリズムの音楽を鳴らしながらポーズを次々に示しています。そのトレーナーの動きに合わせ集まった女性達同じ動きになるように激しく動いていました。ダイエット・ダンス結構人気があり毎週火曜日9時頃から行われています。

Ozzie attended the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati, Ohio this past week which was won by Roger Federer and Serena Williams. He and his ohana are getting ready for the U.S. Open in New York next week. The Boyle family sure know how to do things together and have fun!

No2コートに集まっているプレーヤー達 Nori , Masako , Ayako , Fuku このコートで毎日熱戦を展開しました。盛夏になる前皆日本に引き揚げ日本のお盆を過しています。秋風が感じられる頃こんな風にテニスコートに現れるでしょう。いつもの顔触れが同じ時期にコートに足を運びテニスを楽しみます。そんな楽しみがあるので日本とハワイを行き来しているんですね。

向こうは、熱戦!!

早朝コートにメンバーが揃うのがマチマチになります。No2コートからNo1コートを見るとメンバーが揃ってプレーが始まっていました。ラリーが続く打球音が聞こえてくるのをNo2コートでストレッチしながら視線を投げかけていました。ゆっくり体を動かしながらメンバーが来た時直ぐウォーミングアップできるよう準備をしながら他のコートのプレーも見ています。

Meet this nice young couple from Japan. Both parents, Shibata and Shima, are fine players. That's because their young daughter, Mayuko, is an excellent coach! :) They recently left Hawaii and returned back to their home near Yokohama.

禁煙広報

テニスコート中央ベンチ・エリアにあるゴミ箱に禁煙広報ラベルが貼られています。14年1月1日以降ハワイ州禁煙エリアが広がりました。公園,テニスコート,芝生広場,バス停が新たに追加され吸煙器具のある場所以外喫煙できなくなっています。テニスコートエリアも警官がパトカーを停め時々監視しています。いきなり罰金ないですが警告を受け i-Pad で写真を撮られ警告を受けた時データ検索で照合され合致すると50$罰金になります。2度目以降100$,250$と金額が上がります。
JINさん気を付けましょう!!

Nobu participated in a contest of the cooking demonstration.

And I won the championship and got tote bag.

As for the theme, 「Uh uh uh ... is delicious.」 It was this screaming contest. Comon!

It's Akiko, Fumiko, and Michiyo with Ben-o.  The ladies recently flew in from Japan to join Ben and others for some tennis and recreation.

イベントが行われるのでコイン・パーキング・エリアが駐車禁止案内板が立てられています。こんな時ビーチ側は、無料駐車スペースなのでビーチ側に沢山の車が駐車します。イベントが行われる時カピオラニ公園ダイヤモンド・テニスコート側が駐車可能なのでカピオラニ・テニスコート・プレーヤーも遠くに駐車しゆっくり芝生広場を歩いてきます。

パドル・ボード

クヒオビーチ少し波があるなか沢山のパドル・ボードを楽しむ人達がいます。ビーチからサーフ・ボードに乗った銅像が昔はこんなのなかったんだよ と見つめています。クヒオ・ビーチにボード・レンタルとビーチ・ボーイが教えてくれるショップが出ているので初心者でもパドル・ボード直ぐ乗れるようになります。漂っているだけですがそれが結構リラックスできる遊びなんですよ!!

輝く月

早朝6時前のワイキキ上空に輝く満月です。満月の前後早朝海上にきれいな月が煌々と輝き海面を黄金色に照らしています。薄明かりの中月光が照らす光を感じ素敵な景色に感謝します。今年は、火星,土星が月と直列に並ぶ状態が8月15日から17日迄見ることができます。楽しみにぜひ見ようと思います。

トライアスロン準備

カピオラニ公園周辺でトライアスロンの大会が開催されていました。朝6時頃から Swim から Bike へのトランジット・ポイント案内,ゴール誘導ガイド等々設置がされています。Swim は、クヒオ・ビーチで1.5Km泳ぎカピオラニ公園内で Bike に乗り40Km走りカピオラニ公園に戻り Run 10Kｍ走ってシェルスタジアム手前の芝生広場にゴールします。トライアスロンの大会アラモアナ公園とカピオラニ公園で2ヶ月に1回定期的に開催されています。

お早う!!元気!!

早朝のテニスコート Susan ウォーミングアップを始めようかとラケットを持ってコートに入ろうとした所に Coffee Alan がやって来ました。 Susan ｢お早う!!元気!!｣と Alan に声をかけています。 Alan も同じように｢お早う!!元気!!｣と声を返しています。カピオラニ・コートのプレーヤー達コートに現われると皆に声をかけ声を返します。本当にフレンドリーで楽しいコートです。
