Parks programs facing ax

Pauline said, " There is a meeting at Honolulu Hale to discuss closing ALL parks and recreation departments effective July 1, 2010. This includes all parks and senior centers. Lights and water will be turned off and locks installed on all gates to keep people from using the facilities, to help the City and County Budgets. Tennis courts will not be available and all senior classes will be discontinued."
Could you update about this, Pauline?

Allan Wallace

Did anyone know that this gentleman, Al, was 90 years old in June? Although Al is not now playing tennis, he does help out at the Kiosk and he also works out at 24-Hour Fitness three times a week.

Nick Burniske (70) Successful Aging (7)

He is a very good 5 or 5.5 tennis player even if he is 70 years old. Also he is very energetic and healthy. He told me 4 secrets for his health:
  1. Drink water a lot
  2. Eat fresh foods
  3. Excise (tennis, walking and so on )
  4. Sleep well

Pauline and Ann: You know him very well. So could you tell him more in the comment below?

E-mail From Michoko

Thanks, Ann and Pauline.
We enjoyed very much.
