An Up and Coming Junior Player

This past weekend at the Kapiolani Park courts, we were fortunate to watch Pepperdine junior, Ashley Lahey (on the right), practice with her mom (on the left). She's tall at 5'11" and hits really hard. Earlier this year, she placed second in the NCAA Div I women's singles. She was getting ready for her afternoon International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles match at UH. She and her partner lost to Misaki Doi and her partner in the finals.

From Miki H.:"I was at UH to watch the final. She (Ashley) played very well but Doi was a little bit more experienced. 6-7, 3-6."
