早朝プレーヤー

朝6時頃テニスコートに着くとボールを打つ打球音がNo2コートから聞こえてきました。早朝プレーヤーのペアが何度も何度もラリーを繰り返し行っています。女性のプレーヤーは、打球位置に対応してラケットを持ち変え全てフォアハンドでボールを打ちます。見ていてもラケット持ち変え非常にスムースで自然に感じてしまいます。

雨のテニスコート

朝6時頃来て暫くするとダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向から涼しい風を感じシャワーが来るだろうと屋根のある所に荷物を移動した直後に激しい雨がやってきました。大きな雨粒がコート上で跳ね返り直ぐ水溜りが広がって行きました。ハワイカイ方面少し明るいので少しすると行きすぎると思っていると7時前雨は、止みました。

Aloha Kei (Keiko)

Kei was always happy and smiling.

 You were such a wonderful and friendly presence at the Kapiolani tennis courts. We miss you and wish the best to Michi and the rest of your family.

Ozzie's brother Stan came back to his Waikiki Banyan condo from Mount Vernon WA.

American Air pilot Keith is visiting again, he lives in LA.

Kimiya returned back to Aloha state from Otaru Hokkaido.

Shimazu came back again from Tokyo.

Diane & Tom came back again this year from Sacramento CA, they will be staying here until Feb 27,

Tadashi & Akiko returned back to KPTC from Yokohama, they will be staying here 3 weeks.

もう直ぐ日の出

7時前のテニスコート越しに見るダイヤモンド・ヘッドが黒いシルエットです。空の色が時間経過に従って黒い空から白,青,オレンジ等々変わって行きます。朝早くコートに来て周りの景色が徐々に変化するのを体感するのが気持ち良いです。

補修完了

No4コートに取り付けられている雨除け屋根シート部分と骨組みが緩んでいるので何回かに分けて補修を行いました。固定補助を紐で行っていたのを釣り用のテグスで固定したので経年に今までより長い時間耐えられるでしょう。古い紐類取り外したのでスッキリ見えるようになりました。

ネット・センター高さ

カピオラニ・テニスコート4面のネット・センター高さゲージを使用して月に1回位高さを確認しています。早朝ロッカーに保管してあるゲージを出してきて各コートの高さを確認し基準に合うようセンターベルトを調整しています。

休日のイベント

動物園前からカピオラニ公園に入った所からバンドスタンド前にかけ沢山のテントショップが開店しています。どのテントショップも手作りの品物やテント・オーナーの作品がズラリと並んでいます。定期的に開催されておりゆったり眺めて回ると欲しいものが出てくることがあります。

We are deeply sadden to hear about Keiko

to know she passed quietly and peacefully is a blessing.

We will miss her bright smile and humor.

She was certainly full of life and enjoyed living to the fullest.

Our prayers and thoughts goes out to you and your family.

What is Don Doing?

 He's doing the plank to strengthen his core. With about another week of this exercise, Don will develop the capability to crush his opponents with his deadly backhand.  ;)

ボクシング・エクササイズ

バンドスタンド前に広がる芝生エリアで二人の男性がボクシング・エクササイズを行っていました。音楽が3分間流れる中でボクシング・グラブをスイングして芝生上を円運動していました。インターバルを挟んで繰り返し行っています。

お迎え

Steve 朝7時過ぎ Miki を送って来てカピオラニ公園を1時間以上ウォーキングしテニスコートに帰ってきました。 Miki コートでプレー中なのでゲームが終わるのをベンチで待っています。帰り迎えに来るのは、珍しいですが時々こんな風に迎えに来ます。

Dr. Jota Ishikawa will leave for his Tokyo home today.

Today Craig will return back to his Indianapolis IN home.

Potluck party Feb 14 KP 11:00

Happy Valentine Potluck を2月14日(水曜日)11時からテニスコート東側で開催します。
1品持ち寄りパーティ飲食物を各自の好みで調達して参加してください。
公園でのアルコールは、禁止なので持参しないように!!

テニスコートへ

テニスが終わりワイキキ方向にウォーキング・ロードを歩いてくるとワイキキ方面から見覚えのある顔が近づいてきました。カピオラニ公園入り口近くで Reiko に会いました。ラケット持参で今日は、ゲームを久し振りにやろうと笑顔で応えてくれました。

Domingo & Sergio returned back to KPTC again this year from Buenos Aires Argentina. they will be staying here 3 more weeks.
