手入れが行き届いています!!

カピオラニ公園舗道や芝生広場によいアクセントで配置されているヤシの木 ヤシの実や大きな葉っぱが落下しないよう定期的にヤシの実の除去,葉っぱの剪定が行われています。ホノルル市の公園管理部門がリフトカ―で乗り付け処理を行っています。葉っぱは、粉砕処理されていますがヤシの実は、まとめて販売業者が買い取って行くようです。よく手入れされていますね!!

Daughter and Father

Here's cutie, Hicaru, and her father Jin, a very fine tennis player.  With his right hand, Jin tried unsuccessfully several times to move his daughter's face up to look at the camera instead of the DS player.  Hicaru wouldn't go for it.  She knows what is important--and, it is not the photographer.

My Neice and Sister-In-Law

My neice, Kaylan, and sister-in-law, Es, from the Big Island, stopped by Kapiolani Park recently to play some tennis with Meg and I.  Kaylan is a high school senior and is learning the game fast.  Her mom has been playing for years and participates in the U.S. Tennis Association leagues in Hilo.

Good Morning

朝6時20分頃No2コート水族館方向からいつものように元気な Susan が大きな声で「Good Morning !!」とコートに入ってきました。毎日毎日元気を振りまいてコートを楽しくしてくれる Susan ゲームでは、コースと長さを測ったようなロブやこんな所にドロップショットと多彩なボールが飛んできます。

What a good looking couple.  They're friendly and have nice smiles.  But beware, their racquets are lethal.

気持ちいいです!!

テニスコートから芝生広場の方に出て来てダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向に目を向けるとコートのフェンスに沿って赤いハイビスカスが並びその先にヤシの木がいい間隔でしなやかにスイングしているようなそぶりを見せズーット芝生がきれいに手入れされ広がっています。本当に「気持ちいい」場所です。

昼寝

カピオラニ公園ぐるりと回っているといい木陰で昼寝をしている風景に遭遇しました。サーフィンを楽しみサーフボードを自転車に縛り付けビーチから公園に入りいい木陰で気持ちよい風を感じこの木陰で寝転べばいい気持ちだろうなと思い芝生にビーチタオルを敷き横になりウトウト昼下がりの超贅沢な時間です。いい気持ちだろうなぁ～と思いながら通り過ぎました。

Californians Just Want to Have Fun!

Here's Jean and David hamming it up for the camera.  So so funny you guys!  They are fine tennis players and generally are so refined and cultured.  They probably participate in wine tastings, the symphony, charitable events, etc.  That's okay, Jean and David.  Nobody ever visits this blog so no one will ever see this picture.  :D

テニスコートに辿り着きました!!

Akiko No2バスに揺られ水族館前で下り道路を横切って「テニスコートにやっと来た」と言う表情で現われました。この後準備運動をしながら体がテニス・モードに徐々になりウォーミングアップでタマ感を確かめゲームに入って行きました。何となくシャキッとしない時でもテニスコートでボールを打つと気分も体も調子よくなりますね。

レイアウトがいいですね!!

テニスコートの帰りビーチ側に目を向けると素敵なレイアウトの景色が目に飛び込んできました。色々な木々が素敵なポーズで存在感を示しています。大きな木々は、左巻きに幹をねじり一本立ちの木々は、少し東に傾き西風が常に吹いているということを知らせてくれています。自然の様子を眺めることで風の流れ等判って面白いです。

早朝のテニスコート

日の出前カピオラニ公園をワイキキ側から歩いてくるとこのようにライトに照らされたテニスコートが目に飛び込んできます。まだまだ太陽が出ない時間なのにプレーヤー達がラリーを続けています。太陽が出て来て明るくなると引き上げるプレーヤーがいますのでこんな時間に熱戦が行われているのを知っている人達は、非常に少ないんです。
