From Pauline

This article was in the Inside-Out Hawaii Newsletter.  Would you post it on the blog please?  If you go on Blazin' Steaks website there is a picture of Keone in one of the photographs.  Really good write-up for him.   It is deserved though as he does have such good food.

Keone Gaspar appears to be blazing a new trail with a menu that goes beyond the normal USDA Choice tri-tip, chicken, opakapaka and shrimp plates at his Blazin' Steaks location on Atkinson Drive. With a menu board that lists up to 103 different items - including a vegetarian sandwich - choices abound.

A regular patron, Jacob Aio, admits to eating here at least three to four days a week, citing consistency and quality as the primary reasons for his frequent visits.

"I would eat here every day but my girlfriend wouldn't like that," said Aio, a bodybuilding and strengthening teacher at the nearby YMCA. "I've been to all the Blazin' Steaks but this one is the best."

With lines that snake outside the door at times, this Blazin' Steaks outlet has a loyal following, with most patrons opting for the Atkinson special ($9.95 or $13.95 for a larger portion), a protein-loaded plate consisting of slices of tri-tip steak, baked potato and corn.

Other selections unique to this location are the prime rib loco moco ($14.95), Slavonic steak ($9.95/$13.95), garlic ahi ($10.50 / $13.50), braised boneless pork ($8.50) and boneless beef teriyaki short ribs ($9.50).

"We're not like the other Blazin' Steaks," Gaspar asserted said chef Robert Dennis . "We even serve breakfast all day long."
