ネットの修理

No1コートのネットが色々な所がほつれているためネットのホツレ部分を黒いナイロン紐で Keith が補修してくれています。この日 Keith 6時前からコートに来てローラー付きの椅子に座り順次補修をしながら移動していました。ネットの80%位補修が必要 Keith 丁寧にホツレを直し7時前に補修が終わり早速ゲームに参加していました。ありがとう Keith !!

ウォーミングアップ

ゲームが終わり次のプレーをするのでコートの入った Bob ウォーミングアップを始めました。短い距離でのボールタッチを行った後バックラインに下がり長い距離でのラリーに変わりました。ラリーを続く中相手のボールがオーバー気味に返されてきたのでバックラインからダイレクトショットを打っています。ウォーミングアップでは、打球感や距離感を確認しゲームに活かして行きます。

ライトに照らされて

朝6時過ぎワイキキ方面からカピオラニ公園ウォーキングロードを歩いてくると芝生広場に明るくライトに照らされたテニスコートが浮かび上がって見えてきます。手前のトイレにも明かりが点いているのでその一角が浮かび上がって見えます。その背景になる木々や空の色いい景色が目に入り足の運びが早くなります。

バックハンド・ショット

相手からのボールがバックハンド側に打たれてきています。ボールの打たれた方向をしっかり確認し Fumiko バックハンド・ショットの体勢でボールが来るのを待っています。相手のショットからどんなボールを打とうかとリラックスして対応することが良いショットに繋がって行きます。

犬のトレーニング

テニスコート北側朝７時過ぎ犬のトレーニングと運動が行われています。男性が右手に持っているリングを芝生広場に投げるとその投げられた所まで犬がダッシュしリングを咥えて男性の所まで走って持ってきます。男性がリングを受け取ると同じようにリングを投げ犬がダッシュしをほぼ毎日繰り返し行われています。

Jin(Kihara) of Nagoya tennis group members.

Strong lefty Fuku-san is visiting again this year from Fukuoka and is here for a 2-month stay.

素敵な笑顔

Monica と Cyako 久し振りにコートで出会い素敵な笑顔で再会を喜びました。 Monica 早朝プレーヤーで朝6時過ぎにコートに来てプレーを楽しみます。 Cyako は、多くのプレーヤーと同じように8時過ぎころコートに来るので Monica と会うことがなかなかできないのですがこの時8時過ぎまで Monica がコートにいて丁度 Cyako がコートに来て会うことが出来ました。Cyako 今は、大阪に帰っています。

Manny's wife Audrey returned to their Waikiki home from Vancouver.

Kobayashi & Akemi came back to the Aloha State from Osaka; they will stay here for 2 months.

Ed & Diana returned to their Ala Wai condo from Sacramento; they will play golf tomorrow with Nori, Masako and I at the West Loch GC.

Taka 手打ちそば

Taka 福井で育てた自家製ソバ粉とツナギの小麦粉を持参し滞在先のコンドでソバ打ちを行いました。新そばなので香りのよいそばが打ち上がりそのそばを熱湯で茹で冷水でヌメリを取りソバ出汁で頂きました。自家製ソバと小麦粉で手打ちそば飛びきりおいしいです。Taka 今年もソバと小麦を栽培しソバ打ちを楽しみます。

凄いグラデーション

日の出15分位前ダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向の空が太陽の光線で空全体素敵なグラデーションで染まっています。海に近い空黄金色そこから徐々に遠ざかる空がオレンジ色から青い色に変化している状態に見とれてしまいます。この凄いグラデーション10分位で消えて行きました。
