Here is how the Quitline works:
1. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW

2. Talk to a Quit Coach®
When you call the Hawaii Tobacco Quitline, your call will be answered by a specially trained Quit Coach. About our Quit Coaches:
- A Quit Coach understands how hard it is to quit and knows how to help you quit successfully.
- Each Quit Coach has completed comprehensive training in tobacco cessation and knows the latest methods to successfully quit tobacco.
- They are understanding and supportive, and have previous experience counseling for behavior change.
- Quit Coaches do not pressure members into quitting or make them feel guilty if they stumble in the process.
3. Set a Quit Plan
Your Quit Coach will work with you to create a quit plan just for you.
If the Hawaii Tobacco Quitline is the right program for you, the Quit Coach will talk story with you to find out what’s been helpful for you in the past and what hasn’t. From here, he or she will work with you to:
- Help get you ready to quit.
- Know what to expect as you quit.
- Put together a quit plan that takes into account your personal needs.
- Share problem-solving ideas to help you succeed.
- Teach you the skills to help you break old habits.
- Decide if Nicotine Replacement Therapy is right for you. If it is, they can provide free nicotine patches or gum.
4. Get Support
