Moeの車

Moeは、毎朝6時50分頃この場所にこの車を止めておもむろにドアーを開けラケットケースを肩に掛けコーヒーを右手に持ってゆったりとNo2コートに向ってきます。コートに入ると屋根の左側金網にラケットケースを引っ掛けてから椅子に座りコーヒーをおいしそうに飲み始めます。車のナンバープレートは、好きな6文字が選べるので90年頃Moeの車番は、｢SUKEBE｣でした。若い日本人女性をその車と一緒に写真を撮るのによく誘っていました。

No rain at KP Courts ("Camelot")

What a delightful morning we had! Minimal squeeging and lots of hard tennis.
Ben brought the outlet for the Nikon he gave me last week, so, with a bit of tutelage from my HIRO, I will be able to post pictures. Many mahalos, Ben and Hiro.

Wouldn't it be fun to get back to wearing red on Friday. We can call it Fire Friday!

You must go to Nico's Fishmarket at Pier 38 to hear Mason sing and play ukulele. A big group of us was there last Saturday to revel in the music and cheer him on. He's there every other Saturday so will be there next October 17. The food is ono!!! (they also have ahi,
mahimahi, etc. Tee hee)

ムカデのような芝刈り機

公園の芝刈りが行われておりよく見ると前後左右に刈り込み機があるムカデのような芝刈り機を自由自在に動かし芝刈りを行っていました。芝生への散水,太陽の日差し 芝生の伸びる条件は、120%揃っているハワイでは、毎週公園の芝刈りが行われています。キチンと手入れされることでBBQ,ボールゲーム,ダンス 等々公園で楽しく遊ぶことが出来ます。いい環境ですね!!

クイーン・カピオラニ 銅像

カピオラニ公園に入り200m位歩いてくるとクイーン・カピオラニ 銅像があります。この前を通るとき毎朝「Good morning」と声をかけて通って行きます。毎朝毎朝続けていると突然右手が差し出され握手を求められ「Good morning」と声が返ってきたような気がするのは、私だけでしょうか？

I am blessed with such good and helpful friends at the Kapiolani Kourts. MAHALO
to Hiro for the birthday cake and flowers and for getting me here on the blog,
to Korean Ben for, first the gift of flowers, then the fine gift of a digital camera. I can't believe it!,
to Tom for sweet potato bread, the pepper mill, and the wonderful cake he made for me etc.

I could go on all day; there are so many, now friends. in this Camelot-of-a-place.
I must confess I had to write names down for the first few months because there were so many new folks to remember.
It's hard to believe human beings can be so welcoming and have such an open, non-judgemental attitude to newcomers. Congratulations to everyone for making it so.
Has anyone noticed how much better my game is than when I arrived? Thank you all!

Welcome back KP Del !!

Susan, Yosi, Joyce, Chang very welcomed Del.
Del came from Portland Oregon with his wife Lorraine(beautiful:me and Ozzie met her at the Teddys restaurant). They have visited Hawaii a total of 15 times, but this is the first time since 2004. They can stay here one more week.

Congratulation! Susan(70). You became a contributor now.

Chang (89), Jacey (85) and Susan (70) are enjoying tennis here (court#1). They are some of Successful Aging people here.

雨の処理

明け方の雨でコートが濡れており6時20分頃からコートの水を処理する整備をしました。No1コート脇にあるロッカーからスポンジロールを取り出してきてコートの雨をスポンジロールに吸い取りコートの外に押し出して行きます。コートの雨を処理するのに必ず円を描くようにスポンジローラを動かします。これは、コートが少しサイドエリアに傾斜しているので円を描くようにすると水が外に流れてゆくためです。

Masako 狙い撃ち

Masako がレーシーブを待っています。相手のトスからほぼコースを思い浮かべ打つ場所を決めて待っていますのでいいショットが打ち返されます。低く鋭いボールがフォアハンドから打たれセンターの深い位置に返されポイントを取りました。いつも丁寧に長いボールが打たれるので根負けしないよう同じような球筋でラリーを続けて行かないと簡単にポイントを取られてしまいます。
