早朝の熱戦

朝6時10分頃のNo2テニスコート熱戦が展開されています。平日5時30分過ぎにテニスコートにやってくる Drew , Toshi , Tony ,Kunio の4人がダブルス・ゲームを行っています。4人揃わない時シングル・ダブルスを行っています。どんなに熱戦になっても6時45分過ぎに引き揚げて行きます。

12月中旬から8週間テニスを楽しくさせてもらいありがとうございました。30日12時過ぎホノルル空港から名古屋経由で沖縄に向けて出発し3月中旬桑名に戻ります。3月末に弟が来ますので相手をして下さい。Yutaka 次回9月1日に来ます。カピオラニ・テニスコートのプレーヤーの皆さんありがとうございました。

フットボール・トレーニング

大きな荷物を背負ってバンドスタンド方向から沢山やってきたので何しに来たのかとしばらく見ているとハイスクールのフットボール・チームでした。芝生広場の中央まで進み荷物を置いてそれぞれの役割に分かれコーチの指示で動き回っていました。

さてゲームを!!

コート上の熱戦にけりがが付きベンチで待っていた Jiro , Chako , Curt に出番がやってきました。コートに入ってウォーミングアップしようとそれぞれコートに入る準備を開始しました。

Domingo and Sergio returned to KPTC again this year from Buenos Aires Argentina, they will stay Aloha state 3 weeks.

Jake's friend Itsue came back to Hawaii again this year from Osaka, Aloha!

Canadian players together ; Irv(Saskatoon) Carol(Whistler) Don(Vancouver) Marc(Victoria) and Walter((Kelowna)

Marc is visiting from Victoria BC Canada. he loves KPTC so much therefore come back again and again every other year.

Carol came back again this year from Whistler BC Canada, but other Hornby Island tennis group members like Betty, Gillian couldn't come this year unfortunately.

Carol want to stay here 10 days.

Chako & Jiro arrived airport yesterday, but today only Chako stop by the courts to say Aloha everybody.

Strong lefty Jake returned to his favorite KPTC again this year from Osaka, he can stay here only 10 days.

芝生の手入れ

強い風が続きカピオラニ公園全体に木々の枝などが散らばっています。公園をきれいにするため公園管理の人達が大きな倒れた樹木や大きな枝など一か所に集めていました。散らばった小枝など芝刈りの手入れと同時に処理するように何台もの芝刈り機が走り回っていました。

並んで

カピオラニ公園に沢山生息している小鳥が電線に並んで停まっています。テニスコート周辺でも沢山ウロウロしているのでよく見ます。鳴き声が「メタボ・メタボ」とわめいているように聞こえますが皆さんの耳には、どう聞こえていますか?

そびえるアメリカ杉

カピオラニ・テニス・コート中央にそびえて立つアメリカ杉です。コートとコートを挟む中央で天に伸びて育って存在感を示しています。夜明け前,朝日が出たころ,日中と太陽に照らされた緑が色々変化した色合いを見せてくれます。

Roy came back to KPTC again this year from Chiba.

Hiro came back again this year from Toronto and will staying here until Apr 1.

Boom!

Wayne hit a powerful overhead shot that knocked this palm tree to the ground. 


Just kidding! It was the gusty winds of up to 60 mph which really did the damage.

Joan & Jim returned to KPTC this year again from Whitby ON Canada.

Bob & Barbara returned to their Waikiki condo from Madison Wisconsin.

Sonya & John came back again to Aloha state again from Edmonton Canada.

Bill & Joanne returned to their Waikiki condo from Rhode Island. They will be staying here until Mar 29,

Donna & Mike are visiting from Ottawa Canada.

絶好のテニス日和

風が無く雲一つ無い青空の下絶好のテニス日和です。テニスコート東側のヤシの木もほとんど揺れていなくボールが風の影響を受けず打った通りのボールがコート上を行き来します。安定した天候が続き気持ち良い毎日が続いています。

フットボール・トレーニング

テニスコート北側にハイスクールのフットボール・チームがやってきました。2月にアロハスタジアムでハイスクール選抜チームの試合があるのでトレーニングにチームでやってきました。攻撃と守備に分かれコーチの指示によりキビキビと動いていました。

Wet and Windy!

It's been a windy weekend in the islands with gusts up to 60 mph. These are the coconut trees right next to the courts.

ヤシの木倒れる

21日午後から雨と強風が吹きました。強い雨は、夜半に止みましたが強風は、日曜日朝も続きテニスコートへダイヤモンド・ヘッド方向から強い風が吹き続いていました。テニスコート周辺を見ると大きなヤシの木が根元から倒れていました。そんな中プレーヤ達集まり熱戦を展開しています。

虹だ!!

新年からズーット続いていた晴れでしたがカピオラニ・テニスコートへ久し振りのシャワーがやってきました。雨宿りに屋根の下へ移動しワイキキ方向を見ると大きな虹が現れました。久しぶりのダブルレインボーなので Horacio 写真を撮ってくれとコートへ出てポーズを取りました。

ウォームアップ

ゲームが終わり次のプレーヤー Koji と Kazu がコートに入り相手ペアとウォームアップを始めました。短い距離でボールの感触を確かめ中間距離とベースラインからの感触を確かめています。それぞれのポジションで確認しゲームに入って行きます。

並木道

カピオラニ公園バス停からテニスコートに向かって進むとアメリカ杉並木に入ります。土の路に杉の葉が積み重なり足裏に柔らかいクッションが感じられます。コートの行き帰り時々この道を歩きます。

Hi Jojo!

日の出前

後5分位するとダイヤモンド・ヘッドから太陽が顔を出します。水平線から出た太陽が40分少しかけてダイヤモンド・ヘッドを登って来ています。その前触れを示す雲の色がオレンジに変化して行っています。東側から明るくなりカピオラニ公園全体が照らされると芝生のグリーンが輝いてきます。

ロッカー内部整備

7時前 Keith がテニスコートにやって来て新しく出来上がったロッカー内部を整理しやすいように工夫をしています。ほうき,ブラシ,ちり取り,モップ,スポンジ・ローラー 等々収容整理しやすいよう内部を整備してくれています。

海から上る虹

大きな虹がワイキキ方面に出ている虹の大きさを虹のカーブに沿って視線を送るとビーチから太く立ち上がっている部分が確認できました。そこをよく見ると水平線から虹が立ち上がっているように見えました。

メンテナンス・カー

公園内の色々な設備を補修するメンテナンス・カーがテニスコート西側ロッカー設置後の確認などでやってきました。新しいロッカーの基礎部分,塗装の状態,使い勝手 等などについて確認してくれました。

Weekend player Rex came from Aiea and enjoys playing tennis with us every Saturday morning.

Mineko returned to her Waikiki condo from Montreal Canada and will be staying here 2 months, Aloha!

ライトに照らされるコート

昨日切れているハロゲンランプ全て交換されたので今日早朝テニスコート全体がライトに照らされ明るくなっています。ライトの消灯時間が7時20分に設定されているので日の出前充分プレーができます。
