いいロブが打てたぞ!!

Kenがバックラインから柔らかくロブを上げました。いい感じで柔らかなロブが上がったのでイメージ通り深く入ると感じボールを見つめています。パートナーの Susan も狙い通りのロブなので安心しきって見つめています。このボールは、相手の頭を越えバックライン一杯に入り見事に決まりました!!

Her husband Nori also got same one. So they are very happy.
I think they became now 50% Japanese 50% local. Because they purchased their
condominium in Waikiki area and bland new car all the more got Hawaii driver's license.
Actually they made a plan to live in Japan 6 months and another 6 months live in Honolulu every year.

満月だ!!

No2コートから海の方を見上げると真ん丸なお月さんが煌々と輝いてテニスコートを照らしてくれていました。こんな景色が見られるのは、チョッピリ早起きしたご褒美ですね。雲の無い空に黄金色の満月がありその光が届くテニスコートでお月見をしながらテニスをするいい気持ちです。

大きなパフの木が枝を広げ素敵な景色を見せてくれています。こんな景色の中にテニスコートがありその中でプレーできる本当に素敵ですね。ワイキキ側から歩いてきてこの付近まで来るとこんないい環境で毎日テニスができるなんて超贅沢だなぁと思ってしまいます。

H: Shizuoka, Tokyo.
M: You like Hawaii more?
H: Yes, I like HI weather, but food point of view, Japan is better.

カピオラニ公園東端

カピオラニ公園東端からダイヤモンドヘッドロードを眺めた所です。ここから1.5Km位ダラダラした上り坂が続き登りきると展望台になっています。そこから眺めると太平洋が一望でき眼下では、サーファーが沢山波に乗って楽しんでいます。冬場は、ジット遠方を眺めていると鯨が泳いでいる姿をたまに見せてくれます。

週末8時過ぎから Kid's サッカー メンバーが続々カピオラニ公園に集まってきます。芝生グランドでは、サッカーが盛んに行われ色々な年代のサッカープレーヤーで毎日賑わっています。こんな風に Kid's の時から芝生グランドでボールが蹴れるのってうらやましいですね。こうやってアメリカのサッカー強くなっているのですね。日本もアメリカもワールドカップで一次リーグ突破を!!

Ann がレシーブを待っています。それに対して Tom は、いつでもポーチできるよう爪先に重心を掛け動きだせる準備をしています。センターを狭めてポーチがあるぞ!!と言うような体勢で待たれているとサーブをどこに打とうかと迷ってしまいますね。二人とも積極的な構えがいいですね!!

フェンス沿いのハイビスカス

1日花のハイビスカスが毎日毎日テニスコート・フェンス沿いで咲いています。テニスコートの周りには、真紅のハイビスカスがグルリと取り囲んで咲いています。ハワイ州の花は、黄色のハイビスカスですがテニスコート周りには、ありません。ゲームに順番が来るまでチョットコートの外に出て目の前に広がる芝生,ダイヤモンドヘッド,ハイビスカスと素敵なキャンバスを見るのもいいものです。

Today, May 25th(Tuesday) is Tom's 90th birthday.

風が強いね!!

Charles,Tom,Keith コートチェンジの時今日は、チョッピリ風が強いねとヤシの木の揺れ具合で話しています。ゲームになればこの風をうまく利用したロブ,ドロップショット,短いボール,長いボールと風をうまく使ってゲームを組み立てて行きます。毎日このコートに来て色々な条件でゲームをしているので風も味方につけてしまうのですね。

Supper Aggressive Return

Combine shoulder turn and racket take-back into one movement. Attack both first and second serves. Hit the ball hard and early on the rise and think that none of those returns hit right will come back.

次のゲームをどんなペアでゲームしようかと思案していましたが Boy's & Garl's ペアでやろうと言うことになり Ester＆ Susan ペアがこっちが勝つんだとアピールしている所です。カピオラニコートでは、色々なペアができそれぞれに多彩なショットを持っているのでどんなペアでも楽しく厳しいゲームができますね。

センターベルトの補強

センターベルトの中央部分がネットの振動,揺れ,ボールの接触 等々摩擦することで弱くなって来るのでベルトを交換する時に中央部分にテープを張って補強しています。これも長年の経験から順次引き継がれ Keith がベルト交換時丁寧に補強テープを貼って対処してくれています。

Do you have a pessimistic view of your misses or an optimistic view of your misses? Are you a mistake oriented or solution oriented? Give yourself the freedom to go for your shots and if you miss, accept it. and then move on. remember, going for your shots does not mean to pulverize the ball every time. It is the absence of being too careful and being afraid of failing.

ツグミが群れで!!

カピオラニ公園芝生の上を歩いていると何か固まりが動いているのが見えたのでソット近づいてみるとツグミが群れで芝生の中に隠れている昆虫類を啄ばんでいる所でした。随分近づいても飛び立とうとしないで一生懸命食べ物を探し昆虫を見つけて啄ばんでいました。昆虫,小鳥,小動物,色々な植物そして人間が共存して気持ちよい公園があるなんて素晴らしいですね。

Going for shots is a mental attitude. It's freedom to not worry about failing when you are hitting.

There are two different mental attitudes toward going for your shots and missing. With the first mental attitude when you go for it, I'll make it next time, keep going for your shots.

With the second, i am missing. i should stop doing that. which one are you?

静かなクヒオ・ビーチ

9時前のクヒオ・ビーチまだ賑やかになるには、チョッピリ早い時間です。きれいにローラがかけられた砂浜そしてまだ開店していないビーチ用品のレンタルショップ静かなビーチです。こうやってテニスコートからの帰りにワイキキ方面をながめ穏やかな景色を眺めるといつも深呼吸したくなるのですね。不思議なものです。

Tom & Doi

Tomが得意のバックハンドでクロスのドロップショットを打った所です。スライス気味にラケットを振りきれいにスライスのドロップショットがクロスでネット際に入ってきます。コートの落ちた後殆ど弾まないので予測していないと殆ど決められてしまいます。それを知っているので Doi は、安心して見ているだけでよいのです。このボールは、ネット際に入りそのままポイントになりました。

朝焼けのテニスコート

チョッピリシャワーがありそのせいでダイヤモンドヘッド上空に雲が残りそれがいい具合に朝やけをきれいに見せてくれています。日の出とともにダイヤモンドヘッド方向から明るくなり空の色が色々な色に変化して行くのを見るとまた明日日の出前に来てこんな景色が見たいなという気持ちになり早起きしてこのコートに来るんです。
