So here is the best place to play tennis and to realize the successful aging.

A Real Blast....
I arrived at Kapiolani this morning at around 7:30am and played my first set shortly thereafter. I generally consider the first set a "warm-up" set, per se. My partner was the ever consistent and always pleasant Pauline! I started everything off with a serve and played on of my best games.....ever. My error rate was extremely low and I think I made five service errors and maybe 3 unforced errors throughout the entire match. I just wanted to thank my partner Pauline as literally 100% of the balls were directed at her with exception to the "must" serves. That is really one of the things that makes Kapiolani Tennis courts "unique;" you know, the "social aspect" of tennis. Everyone playing together to have fun, not exiling anyone because of their lack of speed, mobility or limited "repertoire." If all you can do is lob the ball, it's cool; if you like to hit hard and aim for the fences like Joe, that's also cool. But the coolest aspect is everyones perspective that it "is only a game" and that none of us "will be on television each Sunday." At other courts I've played at, there seem to be cliques or groups of people, most of them have a similar skill set. The game of tennis is a funny thing as they say "your true personality comes out on the tennis courts." But in the end, either way it is always fun regardless of where the laughter is directed.
Let's play tennis with Sat from NJ. He is really good.
ReplyDeleteYou know me, I play with anyone: "good, bad or ugly!"
ReplyDeleteI can't help being ugly anymore than you can. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved your comments Keone, I have told many many people on the mainland about KP and most can't believe there is such a wonderful place.
Keone, you are a very big part of why KP is so great.
Mahalo,
Ozzie
I like your comments, too. Though I am not good player, many people at KP were my partners or played with me. I always appreciated their kindness.
ReplyDeleteHi Sachiko, thank you...it's ALWAYS fun!!! Our opponents that day were "pretty consistent" though as it takes a lot of skill to hit it to one person intentionally throughout an entire match! Even if it's only lobs...good thing they're the minority. Hahahaha. Come back and play, we miss you guys.
ReplyDeleteWho are players like that?
