Still her business is very busy, so she will visit Portland OR and San Francisco next week Thursday and 3 weeks later can come back.

プルメリアが満開

カピオラニ公園西端公園入り口インフォメーション・ブース直ぐ横に大きなプルメリアの木が満開に花を咲かせています。木の下に行くと風に吹かれて花が沢山落ちています。その落ちている花を見ていくとその日に咲いた花も枝から落ちてきています。新鮮な花を拾い上げるとプルメリアのいい匂いがします。テニスが終わった帰り道新鮮なプルメリアを数個拾って持ち帰ると部屋の中にプルメリアのいい匂いが漂います。

Mitsuko got here 28th from Osaka she's coming HI every summer and after Christmas to new year. She's playing tennis, golf and horse riding.

No2コートのベンチで弟のAkiraとにこやかなシニアープレーヤーChang, and Tom。二人が90歳近いのに元気でコートを走り回り強いボール,緩いボール,クロス,ストレートと多彩なショットを打ち分けるのに弟は、驚いていました。カピオラニのコートで幅広い年代の人達と多彩なテニスをしてカピオラニ・テニスコートの魅力に取りつかれここ6,7年通い続けています。弟は、リタイア前なので長くは、滞在できませんがリタイヤして長期滞在になるのを首を長くして楽しみにしています。
This is my brother Akira with Chang and Tom on #2 court bench. They are almost 90y/o but still doing great shot even strong shot or slow shot or everything so my brother was surprised. He's visiting HI regularly for six or seven years but he has job in Japan so can't stay long he's waiting for after retirement he wants to stay for long.

Masayuki retired from JAL pilot 13 years ago.
After retired they enjoyed the rest of their life play golf and tennis and travel all over the place. They visit Hawaii KP every year.

校庭で遊んでいる白鷺

Kuhio Ave. とKapahulu Ave. が交わった角 ジェファーソン小学校脇を通ると白鷺が2羽遊びに来ていました。何度も見かける風景なのでシラサギ達も多分同じ白鷺が来ているのでしょう。勝手知った校庭のようでダンスをするように歩いたりチョッピリ飛び上がったりして芝生に隠れている昆虫をついばんでいました。芝生のグランドが小動物や昆虫を育てまたそこに小鳥達が来て食事をする風景を目にして地球が活きているんだなと思います。

クイーンカピオラニ像

カピオラニ公園西側バンドスタンド近くにクイーンカピオラニ像が建っています。この場所は、マラソン・ゴール地点の延長線上になります。クイーンカピオラニ像は、いつも新鮮なレイで飾られ見る人を楽しませてくれます。右手や左手に花束を持っている時もあります。テニスコートの行き帰りに必ずこの場所を通るのでいつも花で飾られたクイーンカピオラニを見つめながら通っています。

Mr. Hisamoto and his wife Michiyo got here from Yokohama. She 's good player. Takeshi doesn't play tennis but he plays golf and she plays ,too.They're coming HI sometimes summer and winter.

101匹には、少し足りないですが

毎日9時過ぎテニスコート脇を通って動物園方向に散歩される7匹ワンちゃんです。昨年末まで6匹ワンちゃんだったのが一番後ろ白黒ブチの子犬が今年初めから加わり7匹ワンちゃんになりました。毎朝決まった時間に整然と6匹は、並んで歩調を合わせ散歩をしていますが白黒ブチの子犬は、必死で皆に合わそうとウロウロ走ったりつっかかったりしながら右に行ったり左に行ったりまだまだ隊列に収まりきれていません。X'mas頃には、隊列の中で整然と歩けるようになっているでしょうか?

Bob and Bridgette will go back their home Banning CA today afternoon.
We had a great time and enjoyed tennis with them during they stayed in here.
We cannot forget precious memory about them, Bridgette all the time bring cake that she made and Bob raised a laugh with funny Spanish joke and gesture.

ホノルルマラソン・ゴールまで200ｍ

カピオラニ公園沢山あるイベントの中で最大のものと言えば12月第2日曜日のホノルルマラソンが一番でしょう。アラモアナを毎年3万人以上が朝5時スタートしカピオラニ公園ゴールを目指しトップランナーは、2時間12分近辺でゴール(7時12分頃) 最終ランナーは、10時間を越えてゴール(15時過ぎ)と1日ランナーがカピオラニ公園を占拠します。この場所は、テニスコートのすぐ横でゴールまで200ｍ位のところです。08年12月14日ホノルルマラソン 4時間12分26秒 1732位 ゴールしました。

テニスコート 散水開始

6時30分頃カピオラニ公園至る所で散水ノズルが現れて一斉に散水が始まります。この散水は、タイマーセットされているので雨の日でも時間が来ると散水の仕事を始めます。定時にいつも散水することで公園の緑が保たれていい風景を見せてくれるのと同時に小鳥達が水浴びに利用しいいさえずりを聞かせてくれる源になっています。こういった地下水利用による散水は、ホノルル市全域で行われています。マノアに降った雨が Koolau Mountains に保水され地下水となり散水や水道水として利用されています。

静かなテニスコート

朝6時過ぎファーストゲームが始まる前の静かなテニスコートです。6時15分頃になると早起きプレーヤー達がコートに集まり始めストレッチをしウォーミングアップが始まり軽くボールを打ちその日の打球感を確認します。毎日テニスをしていても少しづつ打球感が違いボールが長くなったり短くなったり中々思うようにならないのが面白いですね。静かなコートを最初に熱くするプレーヤー達Tom,Charles,Keone,Steve,Moe,Sachi,Yuriko ----。

ウッドチップの並木道

カピオラニ公園バスストップからバンドスタンド脇を通ってテニスコートに向かうと自然のウッドチップ並木道に出ます。しっかり踏み込んでも足裏に優しくウッドチップのクッションが帰って来てすごくいい気持ちで足が運べます。フワフワした並木道をしっかり踏み込みテニスコートに向かうといいウオーミングアップになりいいゲームが出来るかなと思いながら足が弾みます。ここの景色は、どちらから撮ってもいい構図になり素敵なレイアウトに感心します。

ジョギングロード

カピオラニ公園東端に向かうジョギングロードです。ジョギングロードに沿って枝が横に広がる色々な樹木が常に直射日光を遮るよう配置されいい気分でジョギングができます。動物園からスタートするとこの位置は、2Km手前になりその日の体調が判ってくる頃です。真っ直ぐ進み右に行けばダイヤモンド・ヘッドロードを登り1周すると8Kmのコース 左に行けばカピオラニ公園周回4.5Kmのコース になりそろそろ右に行くか左に行くか決めなければならないポイントです。ダイヤモンドヘッド周回も上り下りが適度にありマラソンを目指すには、よいトレーニングになります。すれ違うジョガーに「Hi」と声掛けて楽しくジョギングしています。

豊作のナツメヤシ

テニスコートを挟む通路にナツメヤシが沢山の実を付けています。早朝この実を食べに小鳥達がナツメヤシに集まってきます。まだ熟す前なので青い状態ですがもう少しすると熟して赤い実が目立ってきます。ワイキキの通りや公園内色々なところでよく目にする街路樹です。赤く熟した実を使ってジャムを作って楽しむ人達もいます。赤くなったら口に含んで見てもよいですよ。
There is a date palm tree between tennis court. Birds coming this tree to eat fruit earrl morinig. It's not ripe yet in a little while fruit getting ripe and turn red. We can see these tree in Waikiki or other park. Some people make jam and you can try to eat if these are red.

カピオラニ公園西側動物園のフェンスに沿って Monsarrat Ave. をダイヤモンドヘッド方向に歩いて行き Paki Ave. に交わった左手 Queen Kapiolani Garden に辿り着きます。いつ行っても色々な花がきれいに咲きほこっています。赤,黄色,ピンクのハイビスカス,ブーゲンビリヤ,極楽鳥花,ポインセチア,トーチ・ジンジャー,プルメリア,シャワー・ツリー,キャンドルナッツ・ツリー,オーキッド等々非常に沢山の花木,花がきれいに手入れされのんびり散歩をすると気持ちよくなります。庭園の中には、ベンチが所々にあるのでチョッピリ腰かけて眺め廻すのもよいものです。
